Where can I find the PLPA and Graduate Division Grad Student Handbooks?

Where do I find Graduate Division Petitions for waiving course work, adding or changing units?

All full time students must be registered for 12 units every quarter.

How do I track my rotations and what do I do when I have a chosen a permanent lab?

Rotations are only for 5-weeks and you will track your rotations and your choice of a permanent lab using a Google sheet shared with you with by the staff advisor, and shared with the faculty advisor for PLPA. After you choose your permanent lab, please forward the following paperwork to your PI with instructions to return the signed paperwork to the staff advisor.

How do I form my Guidance Committee, and what forms do I need for my first Guidance Committee meeting?

To nominate your Guidance Committee, please fill out this form: https://ucrbsgsac.wufoo.com/forms/qknbiuk1dpe65e/

You will meet with your Guidance Committee before the end of your first year. The fillable forms can be found here:

When complete, please email them to the Director of the MCBL program and the staff advisor and keep a copy for your own records.

How do I file my Annual Progress Report?

The annual review process has two parts: the student electronic DocuSign form and the faculty ARPE DocuSign form.

Student Forms:

The deadline for your annual reviews has been moved to September 28
Here is the link to the annual progress report electronic form for students
DocuSign will automatically send you a copy of both of your forms (progress report and ARPE); please remember to save a copy of your annual review every year. Please email a copy of your annual review with attachments to your committee at least 1 week prior to your meeting with your committee.

Faculty Form:

Please remember that students must have their committee meetings every year, even in the same year that they advance to candidacy and defend.

After submitting your annual review, go to your Degree Audit to make sure that you have completed all degree requirements and you do not have any Grade Delays on your record.

What do I need to do for my Ph.D. written and oral exams?

Before scheduling your qualifying exam, go to your Degree Audit on your R'Space to make sure that you have (1) completed all degree requirements, (2) that you have attended 250 every quarter required and (3) you do not have any Grade Delays on your record. To form your qualifying committee, please consult the Graduate Division Rules and Regulationand then fill out the Form 2 to get Graduate Division approval for your committee. You must receive official Graduate Division approval of your qualifying committee before you sit for your qualifying exams.

How do I nominate or change my Dissertation Committee?

Forming your Dissertation Committee requires Graduate Division approval. Before filling out the form, consult the Graduate Division Rules and Regulation website for rules about your dissertation committee. Then go here Graduation Division Petitions and Forms and fill out the Dissertation/Thesis Committee Nomination/Change Form. You will receive an official notification from Graduate Division when your committee has been approved.

Go to your Degree Audit to make sure that you have completed all degree requirements and you do not have any Grade Delays on your record.

When and how do I submit my thesis/dissertation?
