Aidan Shands, PLPA Graduate Student 

Seminar Title: "Generating Genomic Resources to Study The Root Rot Pathogen Phytophthora cinnamomi"

Biography: Aidan Shands is a 4th year PhD candidate in Dr. Patricia Manosalva’s lab. His research involves creating novel genomic resources for the plant pathogen Phytopththora cinnamomi and investigating the genetic diversity of P. cinnamomi in avocado growing regions of California and Mexico.

Chien-Hao Tseng, PLPA Graduate Student 

Seminar Title: "Mechanism underlying a recombinant capsid protein-mediated inhibition of Lettuce infectious yellows virus transmission by whitefly vectors"

Biography: Chien-Hao is a 5th year PhD candidate in Dr. James Ng’s lab. His research is focused on investigating the potential role of the minor coat protein of Lettuce infectious yellows virus as a functional inhibitor to block virus transmission by whitefly vectors.
