The Department of Microbiology and Plant Pathology's weekly Plant Pathology 250 seminar series is presented this week by Dr. Robyn Roberts, Assistant Professor, Colorado State University

Seminar Title: "Gaining insights into plant immunity by leveraging bacterial pathogens of wheat and tomato"

Biography: Dr. Robyn Roberts is an Assistant Professor in the Agricultural Biology department at Colorado State University with research interests in plant-microbe interactions and plant immunity. Robyn’s research group studies the molecular plant-microbe interactions between bacterial pathogens of wheat and tomato to better understand how plants defend themselves. This talk will highlight two projects in the lab focused on understanding plant-bacteria interactions: 1) Discovery and characterization of multiple disease resistance against bacterial pathogens of tomato, and 2) Understanding the infection process and the associated disease response of an emerging bacterial pathogen of wheat.
