The Department of Microbiology and Plant Pathology's weekly Plant Pathology 250 seminar series is presented this week by:

Rebecca Crust, Plant Pathology Graduate Student, UC Riverside. 

Seminar Title: "Ecological drivers of competition in rhizobia: Investigating agricultural systems for efficient nitrogen-fixing legume symbionts."

Biography: Rebecca is a 2nd year PhD student in Dr. Joel Sachs’ Lab. Their research focuses on the interactions of legume species and their bacterial symbionts to improve plant health.

Fabiola Pulido-Chavez, Plant Pathology Graduate Student, UC Riverside. 

Seminar Title: "Functional potential of soil microbiomes after a chaparral wildfire"

Biography: Fabiola is a 5th year Ph.D. candidate in the Glassman Lab where she researches fungal and bacterial secondary succession, resilience, and functional dynamics after chaparral wildfires.
