Congratulations to Dr. Patricia Manosalva, Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Plant Pathology and Director of the Avocado Rootstock Breeding Program, who is the principal investigator on a new $4.4M grant from the USDA/NIFA Specialty Crop Research Initiative. The grant is titled "Reducing avocado losses to major challenges by improving resistance selection and disease management using next generation technologies" Co-PIs are Dr. Jim Adaskaveg from the Microbiology and Plant Pathology department and Dr. Hyoseung Kim and Dr. Ashok Mulchandani from the Bourns College of Engineering.
